Supply chain specialist for job alternation leave, UPM-Kymmene Oyj, Valkeakoski

We are now looking for a Supply Specialist to join the UPM Specialty Papers in Supply & Logistics team, located at Tervasaari mill site in Valkeakoski, Finland. The role is a temporary substitution for a job alternation leave (vuorotteluvapaa) from mid-July until the beginning of January 2025.

What you will do

As a Supply Specialist you will play a crucial role in ensuring flawless order fulfilment and optimizing supply chain management. As an integral part of our organization, you will engage in daily communication with our customer service, mills, ports, and production planners to coordinate orders and deliveries effectively.

Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including order confirmation, diligent monitoring of order progress, prompt reporting of any deviations, and swift implementation of corrective actions. Moreover, you will collaborate with logistics and shipping companies to organize and oversee the transportation of confirmed orders. Your expertise in this area will also be utilized to explore alternative solutions when necessary, optimize loads, and verify logistic invoices.

As a Supply Specialist, you will be determined to achieve excellence in all aspects of your work. Your commitment to maintaining the highest level of accuracy and efficiency will contribute significantly to our overall growth. Additionally, you will demonstrate flexibility by readily taking on additional tasks as assigned by your manager.

Who you are

- You have a professional education and at least one year of relevant working experience in supply, production planning or logistics

- You have good knowledge of supply chain processes, customer business, product, and service offering

- You have a service-orientated mindset and enjoy solving complex tasks

- You are pro-active and willing to adapt to changing situations

- You have great communication skills and you are fluent in English. Other European languages, like Spanish or German are a strong asset

- You enjoy working both individually and as a part of a team

- You are accurate, have attention to details and are able to work effectively even in a time-sensitive setting and with complex demands from stakeholders

- You have a good knowledge of IT tools

Note that job alternation leave substitutes (vuorotteluvapaan sijainen) need to meet a set of eligibility criteria and be registered as an unemployed jobseeker in a TE Office immediately before the contract begins. The substitute needs to have been unemployed for at least 90 calendar days during the previous 14 months. A shorter unemployment period applies to people under the age of 25 or over 55, as well as people under the age of 30 who have graduated no more than a year ago. In these cases, one day of unemployment prior to starting work is enough. Please be sure to check your eligibility with the TE Services, if you have any doubts.
