An exiting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified and experienced staff to work as part of the South Dublin Community Support Team which is an inclusive part of our Living Options Service.  

The Community Support Team is a progressive values-based model of service that offers support to people across the South Dublin Region. This is a unique service model that aligns to the HSE Transforming Lives initiative while also incorporating the principles of the New Directions Framework to deliver supports that are person centred, promote community inclusion, active citizenship and improving quality of life.  

The team operates on a support model based on each individuals specific support needs, we apply full commitment to promoting each persons interpersonal relationships , social inclusion, rights and physical and emotional wellbeing.  

Gheel invest heavily in providing staff with the tools that they need to provide quality supports so in this regard, the successful candidate will receive a robust suite of training upon commencement.

The person appointed will report directly to the Location Manager and will work as an integral part of the Living Options and Community Support team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to bring their skills and talents to Gheel during a time of growth and development.

You will work an average of 39 hours per week operating on a flexible roster which facilitates direct support alongside the completion of all aspects of this comprehensive management role.

Essential Qualifications for Autism Practitioner/Social Care Worker posts:

Essential Qualifications for this post:

•    Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland

Or/

•    A relevant qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award. 

Or/

•    Relevant third level qualification at degree level i.e., social work, psychology, and/or allied health.

Or/

•    Post-graduate qualification in Autism Studies

Essential Criteria for this post: 

•    Excellent communication & engagement skills

•    At least one-year recent experience

•    Ability to promote independence where applicable

•    A full clean/current driving licence

•    A thorough understanding of the HIQA regulations

•    Eligible for CORU Registration

Desirable Criteria for this post:

•    Experience in supporting individuals with a diagnosis of ASD and knowledge of

        Autism

•    Experience in case management
