As Retail Shop Supervisor at National Grid Head Office you will be acting as an ambassador for our company and our client business. You will ensure Catering outlets are presented to a high standard, leading a Team by example. A great ambassador will have immaculate standards of presentation and conduct, with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will go the extra mile, leaving a lasting impression with your client, your customers and your colleagues. To maintain a high standard of customer care, to safely manage all daily activities, to work effectively and adhere to all company (14forty FM Support Services & National Grid) local procedures and instructions, ensuring all food legislation is adhered to. To support and train the team to deliver a consistent service, within all company policies, procedures and contract service level agreements. To champion best practice across departments and act as the driver for change in pursuit of continuous improvement. You will lead the team to plan, organise and implement best practice to maximise sales. Main responsibilities * To ensure you always put the customer first * To promote good safety habits and methods of work * To assist in all food production areas with basic food preparation in accordance with menu cycle requirements, as and when * Up sell additional items and create a friendly atmosphere by being professional and efficient * Ensure that the correct service equipment and menu accompaniments are available prior to service * To serve customers with hot and cold food and beverages during service times in line with unit policy, using correct equipment * Operating tills as trained - ensuring accuracy and completion of required forms as necessary * Cashing up tills and assisting with weekly administration, adhering to policies and procedures * To observe and comply with all company and unit procedures relating to cash handling and security, reporting any issues to the Catering Group Manager * When involved in till duties be aware of daily menu content and any changes in the tariff * To maintain company and statutory records as required and to report any variance * Setting up, clearing, cleaning and of food production and service areas * Preparation and setting out of condiments, utensils and additional items for service on all counters * Display products in accordance with the plan-o-grams provided * Replenishing of counters during service * Inform Chef/Manager in advance of any menu shortages in order to ensure a quick and efficient service and to keep queues to a minimum * To ensure all displays, counters and seating areas comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements * Clearing and cleaning counters of debris during and after service and cleaning of tables and floor of Restaurant/seating areas * To receive stock, store and check for quality and quantity; ensuring that all stock is dated and rotated and that all areas are fully stocked Ideal candidate * Good communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of visitors, customers, stakeholders, management team members and colleagues within your work environment * Able to comply with all legislation and follow all rules and regulation laid down in the staff handbook and unit policy statements, with regard to uniform, personal hygiene, health and safety * Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude * Good personal time management skills * Flexible approach to working hours and environment About the company 14forty, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is a leading provider of food and support services in the business and industry sector.
