Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:

The laboratory of Henrik Dimke, Cardiovascular and Renal Research Unit at the Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in the field of epithelial transport physiology.  Focus will be directed toward understanding the importance of divalent cation channels and paracellular claudins in renal and intestinal handling of calcium and magnesium. The postdoc position is expected to start in April 2024 or soon thereafter and for a period of 18 months, with the possibility of extension.

To address the role of divalent cation channels, the successful applicant will use inducible cell-specific transgenic strategies coupled with detailed physiological characterization of these models. This will be done using a variety of techniques including metabolic cage studies in mice, a range of molecular and biochemical techniques, primary culture, as well as imaging. In addition to research, the duties of the postdoctoral fellow will also include administrative and teaching tasks.

The Research Unit of Cardiovascular and Renal Research focuses on innovative molecular and biomedical research related to cardiovascular and renal physiology. We offer a stimulating, international research environment where English is the preferred language at meetings and seminars. You will work in the brand new NytSUND building being established in connection to the hospital and university campus with modern laboratories and animal facilities. You can read more about the research unit and the department here.

Qualified and highly motivated candidates from all nationalities are encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant should have

  1. Obtained a PhD in a relevant area, e.g. biomedical sciences, molecular biology, medicine, or another closely related discipline.
  2. Ability to work structured and independently.
  3. Good communication skills and high proficiency in English.
  4. Good collaborative and social abilities.
  5. Prior experience with animal experimental techniques, transgenic animal work, and standard biochemical techniques (e.g. western blotting, IHC, etc.) is preferred.
  6. Prior experience with primary cell isolation is preferred but not required.
