Job brief

We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Manager to oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of

the company’s facilities. You will be the one to ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources

available to complete their duties according to budget.

A great maintenance manager will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as

carpentry and other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance process and health and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting etc.

The goal is to ensure the company facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the company’s business

operations.

Responsibilities

Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation

To pro-actively manage daily work-load ensuring effective use of available resources including painting, general maintenance

Carrying out of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance routines as per the departmental requirements in tiling, plumbing, carpentry.

Investigation and resolution of process / equipment / instrumentation/ control system issues.

To ensure all maintenance procedures are kept up to date.

To ensure repairs are carried out on a timely manner.

To assist plumbers and electricians in rectifying defects or malfunctions in the hotel systems.

Assist as part of the team responsible for the routine maintenance and upkeep of the hotel facilities, and refurbishment of hotel facilities and services.

To interact with all departments of the hotel.

Manage and coordinate the delivery of all Maintenance Management support services.

Ensure all work is carried out to the highest professional and safety standards possible.

Ensure that all maintenance activities and procedures adhere to applicable Health and Safety legislation, policies and best practice guidelines

Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues

Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality

Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities

Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.)

Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary

Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance

Manage relationships with contractors and service providers

Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities

Ensure health and safety policies are complied with

Requirements and skills

Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role

Experience in planning maintenance operations

Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.

Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment

Ability to keep track of and report on activity

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus
