Do you have a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology and a strong background in FPGA development? We are looking for a talented and motivated Laboratory Engineer to join our research group at DTU Electro, a world-class research and innovation laboratory.
Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be developing FPGA hardware for LiDAR applications. Your primary tasks will be:
- Play a key role in co-developing a next-generation LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) system with a team of experts in photonic integrated circuits, optical communications, and electronic circuit design.
- Develop and maintain FPGA hardware specifically for LiDAR applications.
- Design, code, simulate, debug, and verify FPGA functionality.
- Support our research on LiDAR.
To be successful, you will need:
- Extensive experience in FPGA development using hardware description languages like Verilog.
- Proficiency in using IP cores and implementing common signal processing algorithms.
- A strong understanding of FPGA concepts, including timing constraints, logic control, and interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to thrive in a collaborative research environment.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Experience in LiDAR development, particularly with SPAD (Single-Photon Avalanche Diode) array detectors.
- A passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with emerging technologies.
- Experience in PCB design.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 1 year. The starting date is flexible and preferred to be November 1st, 2024, or as soon as possible. The position is a full-time position.
