Join and share our vision
Do you like complex power systems engineering development, stakeholder management and driving tool development towards value creation? Are you open-minded and enjoy working in a diverse and international team? And are you eager to be part of something new and meaningful?
Join Nordic RCC, a growing company with a pivotal role in the clean energy transition and with the vision to enable the power systems of the future.
The Nordic Regional Coordination Center (RCC) based in Copenhagen provides key services to the four Nordic Transmission System Operators (TSO), unlocking their potential to optimize operations across borders. We are one of the only 6 coordination centers mandated by the European Union to foster regional coordination and to bridge TSOs in the continent.
You will be dealing with complex power engineering challenges using a data-driven mindset in a diverse, inclusive and truly inspiring working environment.
Your responsibilities
You will be joining our Capacity Team focused on delivering services related to coordinated capacity calculation. You can expect to:
- Learn about the flow-based methodology and become an expert in one of our key services.
- Have a close and proactive collaboration with Nordic TSOs regarding operational improvements and data exchange to shape the service we provide according to their needs.
- Lead or join projects, task forces and initiatives.
- Prototype, develop and maintain operational tools in close cooperation with IT software developers and system architects.
- Participate in testing campaigns, ensuring the quality and performance of our products and services before they reach operation.
- Provide analytical insights on root-causes for incidents.
- Develop scripts in python in close coordination with IT Services
- Ensure reporting from RCC to TSOs and regulatory authorities.
- Develop and maintain training programs for existing and new employees.
The list of tasks will develop over time, and you will work together with the Team Lead to structure the role, so it fits your profile and career development.
We are looking for
We are a growing and agile company where multidisciplinary skills are necessary to thrive. We encourage you to apply even if you cover only a part of the following, provided you have at least 3 years of experience:
- MSc degree or equivalent higher education in Electrical Engineering with strong focus on power systems and electricity markets. Ideally, you have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in industry or research.
- Good understanding of European and Nordic electricity markets, e.g. day-ahead, intraday, balancing and ancillary services.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical topics clearly and concisely.
- Open-minded, team-oriented and take responsibility.
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
Having knowledge of flow-based methodology and common grid modelling is a strong advantage and will give you a competitive edge in the selection process.
We offer
You can look forward to joining a team of highly motivated, skilled and compassionate people. Our values of fellowship, curiosity, respect, and transparency have been defined by all employees. They identify how we behave and shape the way we work together, and we expect you to see yourself in them. We work as a not-for-profit company for the benefit of society.
As an employee at Nordic RCC, you can expect:
- Flexible workplace and working hours to ensure best work-life balance.
- Opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth.
- An informal, international and diverse working environment with an array of social events.
Your daily workplace will be in our newly furnished office premises in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestad. The position involves some travels in Europe to meet stakeholders and colleagues from other RCCs and Nordic TSOs.
