Set in hundreds of acres of beautiful forest, our new Center Parcs village – Longford Forest - will welcome 250,000 guests each year, providing the very best facilities and activities We are now looking to recruit a small team of Estate Rangers to start early 2018. Imagine stepping away from the desk and having 400 acres of beautiful forest as your office? The Grounds Services team is responsible for managing and maintaining the forest landscape at each of our Villages, including wildlife and biodiversity surveys. Our expert teams are extremely passionate about the natural environment at Center Parcs, which our guests love to see. Working as part of the Grounds Services department under the guidance of the Senior Rangers, you will maintain the grounds of the village in accordance with the Forestry Management Plan, Company and legislative requirements, having responsibility for your own key task areas. You will assist with the execution of all general grounds maintenance to include; • Routine grass cutting and maintenance of grass areas • Operating chain/pole saws, hedge cutters, hand held strimmer’s and leaf blowers • Thinning of mass vegetation on and around the lodges which involves a high level of physical manual work • Cleaning of paved surfaces with pressure washers • Operating four wheeled motorised equipment • Providing additional support during periods of adverse weather conditions • Prior to opening, the role involves the clearance of forest areas, planting and the management of waterways THE BENEFITS • Annual profit share/management bonus • Staff Reward Scheme • Free use of leisure facilities • Discounted Center Parcs breaks • 20% discount in restaurant and retail outlets Essential requirements: • You will hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a recognised horticultural or forestry discipline and / or have experience within the industry • Driving our Ground Services vehicles onsite will be essential within this position so you must have a full clean manual driving licence • You should have a good knowledge of natural history and have an interest in nature conservation Desirable requirements: • Previous experience in the use of agricultural, forestry and horticultural machinery would be an advantage, along with a certified competency in use of pesticides PA1 and 6a • Previous experience in Pest Control Closing date: 7 November 2017 Interviews to be held: Week Commencing 20 November 2017 Please note this vacancy may close at any time once sufficient applications have been received.
