Early Years and After School Educator. Dublin. Irlanda

Sandymount After School Club is seeking an Early Years Educator dedicated to providing quality, inclusive education, in a warm, nurturing, and supportive environment.

Role: To support and assist in the provision of care of the highest quality in a holistic setting for children aged between 2 and 5 years.

Reports to: Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Day to day responsibility for children in your care

Engaging in and planning child centred play in the indoor and outdoor environments of Park Avenue Preschool & Montessori.

Perform a variety of care tasks, such as nappy changing, toileting, sterilising, feeding, cleaning, homework.

Conduct meaningful observations of children under the direction of the room leader

Follow the policies and procedures of the services at all times

Cleaning, tidying and storage of equipment and toys after use

Coordinate the implementation of activities suitable for different age groups

Maintain room and equipment, to ensure the health and safety of children at all times

Ensure a good standard of hygiene

Support children's developments – emotional, social, physical and cognitive in carrying out activities

Attend meetings and undergo training as required

Be aware of child protection procedures and advise manager should you have any concerns about a child

Maintain strict confidentiality at all times

Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time

Person Specifications:

Minimum Fetac Level 7 in Early Childhood Care and Education

Minimum of 1 year work experience working with children of a similar age

Ability to work as part of a team

Child centred perspective

Kindness, warmth and responsiveness to the needs of children

Good communication skills with children, staff and parents

Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations

Knowledge and implementation of Síolta and Aistear curriculums

Child Protection Training and First Aid Qualification desirable
