As a dental hygienist at White Smile Dental, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and promoting oral health for patients. Your responsibilities will include conducting dental cleanings, providing education on proper oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist in various procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Dental Cleanings: Conduct thorough dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth.

Use a variety of dental tools to clean and polish teeth.

Patient Education:Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide guidance on lifestyle factors that can impact oral health.

Periodontal Assessments: Perform periodontal assessments to evaluate the health of the gums and identify signs of gum disease. Take and develop dental x-rays to assist in diagnosing dental conditions.

Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the dentist to develop treatment plans based on the assessment of the patient's oral health.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.

Document findings from oral examinations and cleanings.

Preventive Measures: Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay.  Provide recommendations for additional preventive measures as needed.

Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile dental environment.

Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.

Patient Communication: Communicate effectively with patients to address their concerns, answer questions, and provide support. Schedule follow-up appointments and provide post-treatment instructions.
