We need to roll out renewable energy at a massive scale to replace fossil fuels and fight climate change. This will require thousands of new wind turbines on- and offshore (offshore wind alone is projected to grow by over 15x by the critical 2050 climate deadline). At the same time, we have to protect vulnerable ecosystems and animal species which are already under huge pressure from habitat loss, pollution and climate change.

Spoor is a growing startup with a vision of enabling nature and industry to coexist. We capture, process and analyse wildlife data to help wind farms predict, measure and manage their impact on birds. In this way we support the necessary global transition to green energy, while at the same time protecting biodiversity. For this important task we deploy camera streaming expertise, wind energy and regulatory domain knowledge, and cutting-edge technology such as computer vision and AI, data science and edge computing.

Description:

As a Business Developer in Spoor you'll be joining an ambitious, collaborative, diverse and purpose-driven team. We help define the future of wildlife monitoring, biodiversity reporting and best practices for reducing adverse biodiversity impacts.

Together with the team you are responsible for building a seamless sales process, identifying challenges and developing creative solutions to address them. And of course securing business in our key markets!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining your own sales pipeline (identifying leads and following up)
  • Pitching Spoor’s product effectively
  • Preparing and negotiating deals, and securing business with both new and existing customers in key regional markets
  • Building close relationships with our customers and prospects
  • Understanding our customers needs and how we can address them
  • Understanding evolving customer requirements in key markets
  • Advising the management team on commercial decisions and product development
  • Coordinating with technical and operational teams to ensure successful project scoping and delivery

Your experience and skills may include:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree, and/or +2 years of client-facing work experience
  • Strong commercial skills: Ability to identify sales leads, pitch products or services effectively, negotiate deals, and close sales.
  • Track record in international SaaS B2B/enterprise sales, preferably with a value of 1M NOK or more
  • Communication skills: networking to build and maintain relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry contacts.
  • Proficiency using CRM software (Hubspot is a +), to manage client interactions, track sales activities, and analyse customer data
  • Professional standard spoken and written English, additional languages are an advantage
  • Experience in the energy, software and/or camera industries is a bonus
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is a bonus
