Job Title: Welder

Location: Ballycoolin, Dublin 15

Reports To: Workshop Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for assembling and fabricating various metal structures and equipment. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform Welding Operations: Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) based on project requirements.

Read and Interpret Drawings: Understand technical drawings, and work orders to execute the required welds and fabrications.

Prepare Materials: Set up components for welding according to specifications, ensure materials are properly aligned, and inspect materials for any imperfections before welding.

Operate Welding Machinery and Tools: Utilise welding tools, torches, jigs, and cutting machines, ensuring proper handling and maintenance.

Quality Control: Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards, and perform any necessary repairs or adjustments.

Maintain Equipment: Conduct regular maintenance on welding equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.

Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear the required protective gear (PPE) at all times.

Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth and timely completion of projects.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 1 years of experience as a Welder in a manufacturing or workshop environment.

Certification: Certified Welder is preferred but will accept proven experience.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Arc welding techniques.

Knowledge: Solid understanding of welding symbols, and metal properties.

Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high standards of workmanship with minimal supervision.

Physical Ability: Capable of lifting, bending, and performing welding operations in various positions.

Safety-Conscious: Strong understanding of safety protocols and experience working in a safe manner.

Working Conditions:

The role may involve exposure to high temperatures, noise, fumes, and hazardous materials, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.

This position may require working in confined spaces or at heights, depending on the project.
