An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Trust Registrar Doctor to join the Acute Medical Team within the Ambulatory Care Unit at Ealing Hospital. This post will be recruited to on a 12 month fixed term basis for provision of Maternity cover. The Ambulatory Care Unit ACU at Ealing Hospital began its operation in 2014. It has now moved to a dedicated area next to the Emergency Department, with 5 assessment spaces and 2 clinical consultation/procedure rooms. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the day to day work associated with the care of acute general medical patients in the Ambulatory Care Unit, under the supervision of the Acute Consultant team. The appointee will review medical patients in ACU and liaise with ED and Medical Registrars to pull suitable Ambulatory Care patients to avoid admissions. In addition there will be the expectation to learn and perform practical procedures and attend specialty hot clinics with other General Medical Consultants. Furthermore, the ACU Registrar will be expected to participate in the Medical on call Registrar rota on a 1 in 15 basis. All candidates should be eligible for registration with the GMC. MBBS or equivalent, MRCP UK or equivalent, Full registration with GMC are essential. Successful completion of Core Medical Training or equivalent and Experience of Elderly Care Medicine are essential.
