Tooling Technician (Ingenieur/in - Maschinenbau). Malta

We are currently seeking Tooling Technicians whose main responsibilities will include the monitoring, controlling, implementing and upkeep of aircraft tools and equipment.

- Implement, monitor and control the tools and equipment management system to ensure it is kept regularly updated

- Inspect and check all tools and equipment

- Monitor and control sub-contractor tool boxes to ensure full compliance of company procedures

- Carry out duties as directed by the Tooling Superintendent for the retirement and reinstating of tools requiring calibration/testing as well as procurement, repair, maintenance and manufacture of tooling and equipment.

- Carry out preparation/planning of tooling per layover preload

- Communicate with external suppliers to advise the adequate technical specifications for purchase or repairs necessary.

- Perform periodic monitoring of precision measuring equipment stationed in the ramp areas to ensure that such are retrieved prior to their expiry.

Ihr Profil:

Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications

- Excellent knowledge of the position’s specific field of expertise.

- Must have the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

- Seasoned judgement and the ability to set priorities and make decisions.

- Demonstrate capability to coordinate effectively with maintenance personnel, other employees and management.

- Require limited direction.

- Preferably a minimum of 2 years of work experience enabling the application of technical knowledge to perform assigned tasks independent of supervision.

- Good interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.

- In possession of either a diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering in MQF level 4 or BTECH Higher National Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent MQF level 4.

Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd. (LTM) was established in 2003 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG (92%) and Air Malta (8%). The MRO service provider (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul), based at Malta International Airport in Luqa, provides its customers with line and base maintenance services for short haul and long haul aircraft in the Airbus A320/A330/340/350 series. Initially specializing in C Checks and comprehensive aircraft modifications, the company has now significantly expanded its service portfolio following the construction of a 64,000 square meter hangar complex.
