Areas of Responsibility

Quality Systems Specific Responsibilities

•    To ensure adequately trained resources are in place to meet QA system demands

•    To maintain and develop company Quality Systems

•    To comply with procedures as outlined in the Company’s quality statement

•    Completion of accurate records for all quality tests and checks complete. Ensuring such records are stored in a safe location where they can be readily identified and retrieved.

Compliance

•    Ensure the company complies with all technical requirements of its customers and to maintain a record of any deviations, quality reports and relevant documentation

•    Spearhead management of all technical audits including BRC, system audits, quality audits, technical audits and facility audits.  Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections

•    Resolve any non-conformances with support from Line Managers and escalate non-conformances to appropriate directors if not resolved.

•    Liaise with Productions Supervisors and work closely with production and quality control teams to ensure all legal standards are met.

•    Continuously review company procedures and policies, and ensure The Managing Director and all relevant Line Managers are kept aware of changes in requirements, specifications or legislation that may affect the company’s operations

Suppliers

•    Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance.

•    Approve correct raw materials that meet specification or reject defective with respect to the company’s quality standards and maintain records on supplier performance and compliance.

•    Provide all suppliers with production specifications and assess their technical compliance to the company’s quality assurance system as well as the expectations of each customer.

•    Maintain records of testing, information and technical requirements of each product line.

Customer Specific Responsibilities

•    Checking that the product meets the requirements of the customer’s specifications regarding labelling, packaging, quality, weight and colour etc.

•    Checking that all products are dispatched at the correct temperature in accordance with the customer’s requirement.

•    Immediate notification of any non-conformance in quality, legality or hygiene to The Managing Director, all relevant Line Managers, and the Technical & Quality department.

•    Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes. Share information and ensure production staff comprehend these processes and quality expectations for each product line.
