Mount Sackville Nursing Home is looking for a staff nurse, for night duty.

Shift pattern is 3/4 nights.

Paid breaks.

Sunday paid time and half.

Interviews will take place from 22.07.2024

Expected start early August.

Responsibilities:

    Assess the needs of the resident and develop a person-centred care plan, taking into consideration recommendations from other members of the Care Services team on VCare

    Deliver individualised care to each resident (in accordance with the care plan and best clinical judgment) in conjunction with Care Assistants and Activity Co-ordinator.

    Manage the Care Assistants and help them in their daily duties; allocate and supervise tasks; provide guidance, leadership and training where required.

    Supervise the Activities Co-Ordinator and participate in activities with the residents.

    Become familiar with

    Health Acts 2007 and Amendments

    Care and Welfare of Residents in designated centres for Older People Regulations 2010 and Amendments

     Safety, Health & Welfare At Work Acts, 2005 and 2010 legislation and Amendments

    Demonstrate a working knowledge of

    HIQA National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland

    An Bord Altranais Code of Professional conduct and associated guidelines for nursing practice.

    An Bord Altranais Guidelines on Medication Management

    An Bord Altranais Professional Guidelines for Nurses working with Older People

    Nursing Home Policies and Procedures

    Liaise with GP, Dentist, Optician, Chiropodist and Pharmacist and make out of course appointments as required after carrying out a thoroughly clinical examination

    Provide ward orientation for all new residents

    Teach, direct and supervise students on work experience

    Attend and participate in staff meetings

    Organise relevant documentation and transport for resident’s external care appointments and emergency care services

    Maintain accurate, specific and detailed progress notes for all residents and share these together with a comprehensive verbal update with the Nurse taking over the next shift

    Maintain accurate medication cardex information and ensure Digicare is up to date

    Overall responsibility for all resident care requirements
