Orchard Community Care are looking for empathetic, motivated and caring Social Care Workers to work in our residential and day services in Sligo, Longford, Roscommon, Leitrim, Mayo, Galway and Limerick.

Orchard Community Care has a number of opportunities for permanent-full time Social Care Workers working a minimum of 48 hours per week. Guaranteed minimum hourly rate of €14.50  per hour and guaranteed minimum annual salary of €36,192

Our residential services support children and adults with significant and complex additional needs. Working with families and the community, we support our service users to build their independence and resilience. Our residential services are a 24-hour service and as such working hours will include days, nights and weekends.

Main responsibilities of the role:

The Social Care Worker is expected to engage in daily activities and routines of the service that they are working in, inclusive of direct support to service users, administration work and daily household tasks required of them. The Social Care Worker is required to work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in within a Residential Services providing a service to service user in line with HIQA regulations & standards.

    Ensure delivery of a high standard of care

    Assist with the child/adults’ activities and care as assigned by the

        Manager and as indicated in the person’s Integrated Care Plan.

    Encourage recognition of the child/adult as an individual ensuring

        that they and their family’s needs and comforts are given priority.

Essential Requirement:

    QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts or higher in Applied Social

         Studies/Social Care.

    Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment

         supporting adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.

    Full driving license.
