Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:
SES must implement the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act ("SOX"). The Senior Specialist, SOX Compliance will be responsible for ensuring compliance with SOX by managing and executing the SOX compliance program within the organization. The role involves the assessment, documentation, testing, and monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting (“ICFR”). The Senior Specialist, SOX Compliance will collaborate closely with IT, finance, operations, and internal audit to identify risks, implement control improvements, and ensure adherence to SOX regulatory requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage SOX compliance projects, including risk assessment, control documentation, testing, and remediation.
Conduct walkthroughs and testing of key business and IT controls to evaluate their design and operating effectiveness.
Ensure control owners timely design and implement key controls to mitigate risks
Ensure control owners maintain appropriate documentation of control activities and processes
Identify areas within relevant processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness and assist process owners with design and implementation of control improvements
Identify control deficiencies and work with process owners to develop and implement remediation plans.
Prepare and review SOX documentation, including process narratives, flowcharts, risk and control matrices, and testing plans.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate their review and testing of controls.
Monitor and report on the status of control deficiencies and remediation progress to ensure timely resolution
Provide guidance and training to process owners on SOX requirements and best practices
Stay updated on changes in SOX regulations, accounting standards, and industry practices to ensure compliance with SOX.
COMPETENCIES
Strong knowledge of SOX requirements and the COSO framework
Understanding of PCAOB audit requirements
Excellent knowledge of financial reporting processes and internal controls over financial reporting
Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, a plus
Experience with Microsoft D365 a plus
Excellent project management skills and ability to work independently
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and achieve agreement from stakeholders
Willingness to challenge status quo and drive continuous improvement
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
U.S. Certified Public Accountant or similar certification a plus
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in external audit, SOX compliance, internal audit, or a related field
Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm implementing SOX-compliant ICFR programs and/or auditing financial reporting processes in accordance with the standards of the PCAOB
Experience with SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting at large companies
Fluent in written and oral English
