Senior Project Manager, CSC-Tieteen tietotekniikan keskus Oy, Espoo

CSC is looking for a senior project manager to lead the construction project of its next-generation supercomputer facility that will host the successor of Lumi supercomputer (working title "Lumi-Next"). The goal of the project is to build one of the largest supercomputer facilities in the world, with being the most advanced and sustainable supercomputer site at the time of its acceptance. The facility will be built in Kajaani, Finland, where CSC hosts Lumi supercomputer, which is currently the fastest supercomputer in Europe, as well as Finland's national supercomputer systems.

The project manager will lead the needed public procurements, participate in the planning and design work of the facility with the contractors, oversee the project budget and progress and report them to stakeholders. In addition, the project manager will participate the Lumi-Next supercomputer planning and acquisition.

We are looking for a senior expert with

- A strong track record in leading large and complex projects as well as project teams

- Experience in data center planning and deployment

- Knowledge in building technology

- Understanding of the data center market dynamics

- Good communication skills, English in minimum and preferably also Finnish

We value project management certifications (e.g. IPMA) and experience of supercomputer facilities. Note that succeeding in the role requires frequent in-person presence in Kajaani, Finland, and possibly other travel as well.
