Ensure the team provides toxicological opinions and risk assessments of ingredients/NTMs/materials used in the manufacture of JTI tobacco products or third parties considering consumer use and with regards to chemical regulations.  Also ensuring that JTI risk assessment procedures are in line with current practices accepted by the scientific community at large, especially considering consumer product practices and tobacco industry standards

Provide strategic scientific support to SRA RRP and CP pillars in case of specific outside challenges or quality related issues concerning JTI

Support the design, management, and interpretation of any JTI toxicological study, including liaising with contract research organizations

Closely monitor competitor activities and support the development of company positions

Represent JTI at external meetings with the tobacco/reduced risk products industry and external scientific meetings/organizations (e.g., TMA, CORESTA, scientific conferences)

Capitalize on relationship networks (external and internal) and motivate and guide the professional development of the SRA Toxicology Agile Managers under supervision for respective projects.  

Requirements;

A minimum of 5 years of practical tobacco/nicotine industry experience with a focus on smoking and health, Reduced Risk Products, as well as clinical and behavioral assessments

In-depth knowledge of scientific research, particularly concerning tobacco products and tobacco harm reduction strategies. Proven experience in developing and executing effective advocacy programs

Extensive experience in medical and scientific writing, with a background in scientific journalism, pharmaceuticals, medical communications, consultancy, or clinical research organizations. Expertise in delivering clear, engaging, and concise scientific content across various disciplines is essential

Very good computer skills (MS Office)

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

PhD, or equivalent degree in Science (Public Health, Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, Epidemiology)

Excellent English communication skills (both written and oral), further languages knowledge would be an additional asset

Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex scientific and regulatory information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a history of producing high-quality scientific documents.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP environments
