Research Manager - Cyber Security Academy Cyber Security Location: Highfield Campus Salary: £37,706 to £47,722 per annum Full Time Fixed Term Closing Date: Tuesday 24 October 2017 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: 925717FP A Research Manager position is available within the Cyber Security Academy (CSA). The successful candidate will, under the overall direction of the CSA's director, be responsible for the CSA's research activities. They will manage project development, lead and coordinate project bids, broker research connections between the University, the CSA industry partners and third parties, as well as undertaking a personal plan of research and consultancy activities. They will support activities towards commercialisation of research through consultancy, licensing and collaborative research programmes. The successful candidate will develop and manage a broad and significant range of research relationships, delivering growth to the Academy’s membership base. They will promote the Academy as a centre of excellence in research, on a national and international level, lead and manage research activities, lead outreach and outward facing activities of the Academy. They will contribute to develop and deliver effective and efficient management processes ensuring that the CSA’s research responsibilities and commitments to members are executed and reported in a transparent and timely manner. They will lead, develop and manage a broad and significant range of research relationships with external organisations (public and private sector) at decision maker level in both CSA member and non-CSA member organisations. The post will be held in the Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton.
