Job Description

The Quality Technician working in the PDC Prototyping Plastic Quality Control Laboratory Luxembourg shall ensure that the plastic parts delivered to the lab are inspected and tested according to the defined internal general (Husky) or external specific (customer) requirements.

All inspections and tests must be done with highest quality standards and in a timely manner. Results must be delivered to the requester in a formal report.

Beside plastic parts inspection, as quality / technical manager they shall ensure that all methods are fit for purpose and validated. They define the quality controls to perform together with their acceptance limits. They supervise the maintenance, calibration, and verification of the equipment, and ensure that the management system related to quality is implemented and followed at all times.

Responsibilities

Preform inspection

    Inspect preform and closure plastic samples by conducting defined laboratory tests (dimensional, weight, visual inspection and acetaldehyde level measurement) according to the acceptance criteria

    Support the ongoing live PDC production of plastic parts with spot checks which are required to secure that the high-quality requirements are followed during injection run

    Respect all technical and formal processes and procedures defined for the inspection of plastic parts

    Schedule, prepare and communicate test results in standardized format to all stakeholders

    Ensure that all data is stored and can be tracked in the appropriate folders

    Support and inform stakeholders in case of quality issues (root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions)

    Maintain & monitor laboratory equipment via verification routine

    Participate to the continuous improvement of inspection templates, procedures, and equipment

Quality system management

    Support the management of the laboratory for establishing the quality policy

    Regularly ensure that the quality system is implemented and followed

    Manage and improve the quality system documents

    Participate to the revision and approval and diffusion of quality system documents

    Perform external documents review

    Establish and follow-up of the quality manual

    Establish and participate to the management review

    Plan and participate to the internal audits

    Supervise the non-conformities

    Provide training to internal technical staff on laboratory usage & testing procedures

Laboratory equipment management

    Maintain & monitor laboratory equipment via calibration and verification routine

    Ensure validation of the methods and determination of measurement uncertainty

    Definition of quality controls and analysis of their results

    Provide training to internal technical staff on laboratory usage & testing procedures

    Ensure that all data generated by the team is stored and can be tracked in the appropriate folders

    Participate in the resolution of problems in case of quality issues (root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions)

    Participate to the continuous improvement of inspection templates, procedures and equipment

Qualifications

    Technician degree or master degree in mechanics or plastics faculty

    Experience in inspection environment - CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) or other measurement systems, preferably OGP measuring machines

    Knowledge of Husky products, tools, standards, processes & technology is an advantage

    Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025 and GD&T standards

    Good knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and VBA for office

    Ability to communicate in English (verbal & written)

    Attentive to detail, team worker, takes ownership and is highly motivated
