Are you interested in advanced biofuel technologies?

We are looking for a dependable, curious, enthusiastic colleague who has an interest in technology, enjoys solving problems and collaborative work to meet the project’s goals.

The job

The SEAFAIRER project, an Innovation Action funded by Horizon Europe, aims to demonstrate, at Technology Readiness Level (TRL 7), the production of improved intermediate biofuels followed by processing in existing refinery infrastructure to deliver climate-positive drop-in biofuels for maritime transport. The Project Manager will take a crucial role in coordinating various stakeholders, managing project administration and finances, and directly reporting to the Project Coordinator (Seyed Soheil Mansouri) and the Project Officer, who is with the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).

Your main tasks are to:

  • Collaborate with and report to the Project Coordinator for project oversight and execution
  • Support the coordinator, consortium meetings and facilitate clear communication among partners
  • Provide administrative, operational, and technical assistance to partners for project-related issues
  • Help coordinate internal and external communications related to research and technical activities, including write-up of communication and dissemination materials for the project
  • Help organise and assist in the planning of meetings, seminars, workshops, and departmental events that often involve technical discussions.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and grant proposals, ensuring high standards of accuracy and presentation.
  • Read daily news about relevant technical and market areas (e.g. biofuels; maritime shipping regulations) and create periodic short reports to inform the project team.
  • Coordinate the preparation, consolidation, and submission of financial reports
  • Ensure all documentation for justifying expenses is correctly defined and archived.
  • Facilitate network building with researchers, industry professionals, government actors, and other stakeholders.

Our expectations of you

We expect you to have:

  • a B.Sc. (equivalent or higher) in a STEM field or economics; demonstrated project management skills and relevant industry experience will be prioritised
  • familiarity with Horizon Europe Programme and previous experience under this programme
  • strong communication and personal interaction skills
  • mandatory that you have excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are highly appreciated

We are looking for a team player who can also work independently, who is motivated to help make, and be part of, a dynamic research and development environment and who has a positive, supportive and creative outlook.
