Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:
The Energy Economics and Regulation group at DTU Management Engineering offers a position as Postdoc in the area of operations research and application within energy production, energy systems, and energy markets. The Energy Economics and Regulation group is part of the Systems Analysis Division which is placed within the Department of Management Engineering at DTU. The division conducts basic and applied research within the area of energy system analysis, policy instruments, regulatory issues, energy demand, geography, economics, and climate science. Responsibilities and tasks With this Postdoc position, we want to strengthen our teaching and research competences within optimisation theory, hereunder stochastic and integer programming. We are looking forward to a colleague that can interact with our current activities in the modelling and analysis of a variety of energy systems – often with applications motivated by policy goals and regulations. Your research focuses on production and integration of renewable gasses in future energy systems – especially within the Nordic countries that have high shares of variable renewable energy. The research will also focus on optimal market behavior for different energy technologies in the future energy systems. Tasks includes: •Further develop existing mathematical models for renewable gas production to analyse the effects of changes in support and tax schemes •Develop mathematical models for optimal bidding strategies in energy systems with high shares of variable renewable energy •Further develop the existing energy systems model, Balmorel, to ensure lower running time and better performance. This work will involve a close collaboration with the Operations Research group in the Management Science division. The Postdoc is expected to be one of the main lecturers in the master's level course Modelling and Analysis of Sustainable Energy Systems using Operations Research, giving lectures in introductory topics within operations research and applications within energy systems modelling. We value knowledge sharing and cross functionality. Therefore, you are expected to cooperate and be eager to build relations with colleagues in the department and with other departments of DTU. In addition, you may participate in research-based public sector services. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. We are seeking a candidate with a PhD degree in operations research or mathematical-economics. In addition to the above, the following further qualifications will be considered in the assessment: •Strong background in operations research •Experience with mathematical models for renewable gas production and integration in energy systems •Experience with stochastic and integer programming in energy •Experience with energy systems models, preferably Balmorel •Interest in sustainable energy and energy systems •Experience with teaching on master's level •A longer-term interest in pursuing a research career •Excellent writing and communication skills •Team player - the research is conducted in multidisciplinary teams. •Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international environment as well as in a Danish context •Proficiency in Danish (or Swedish, Norwegian) language is an advantage The postdoc will be selected through a competitive application process.
