Do you have a relentless drive to improve services for patients? UCLH is looking for an NHS professional to work closely with our clinical teams to deliver the best quality care whilst operating within today’s tough economic climate.
We are looking for a person that is dedicated to improving services for patients, financially astute and has experience of successfully implementing service improvements.
The post sits within Surgical Specialties Division which is comprised of trauma ∨thopaedics, urology, thoracic and head ≠ck surgery.
This post is based at UCH at Westmoreland Street working specifically with the thoracic and urology specialties.
Thoracic Surgery offers a full range of thoracic surgery procedures, a large proportion of which are undertaken via video-assisted thoracic surgery VATS keyhole surgery procedures.
The thoracic team are also using the Da Vinci robotic system to treat more complex patients with minimal invasive surgery.
The urology service is one the largest in Europe and delivers cutting edge surgery using the latest technologies.
The service comprises of six sub-specialist teams: adolescent urology, andrology, female reconstruction, male reconstruction, stones and uro-oncology.
UCH at Westmoreland Street recently took delivery of a second Da Vinci robotic system which is primarily used to treat bladder and prostate cancers.
This role focuses on driving theatre efficiency and supporting the delivery of performance and access targets at Westmoreland Street.
The post holder will lead the theatre scheduling meeting in order to ensure theatres are fully utilised and productivity is maximised.
The post holder will support the delivery of diagnostic and waiting time targets through leading weekly PTL meetings.
You will work closely with both clinical and admin teams to ensure patients are cared for expediently during their time with us.
Ideally you will have significant NHS experience and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of inpatient pathways and service improvement.
You will need to display strong leadership qualities and have a proven track record of delivering high performance across the areas you have worked.
