Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:

The Department of Food Science is seeking applications for a 18 months Post doc position. The position includes scientific as well as teaching duties at the Department of Food Science. The post doc will work in a consortium with many industrial and academic partners. The position includes i) optimization of biorefinery strategies in collaboration with engineers and industrial partners, ii) quantification of antinutrients and pigments, protein chemical evaluation, and test of functional properties and implementation into food applications.

 

The candidate is expected to

  • Help engineers optimizing already existing process in pilot and large scale processing
  • Analyze food and feed proteins for colorants and saponins using HPLC-MS/MS and GC-MS
  • Protein chemical analysis, e.g. SDS-PAGE, Western blotting ect.
  • Investigate food protein for functional properties
  • Show proof-of-concept food application 
  • Analyze data with both multivariate and univariate analysis
  • Write articles for high impact journals
  • Assistance of users/students from the department in laboratory work
  • Assist students in data collection software and data analysis
  • Participate in teaching at bachelor and master level within food chemistry and technology
  • Various duties related to the Department of Food Science including support to the Danish authorities e.g. the Danish Food Ministry
The candidate will be a part of a team focusing on alternative proteins, natural colorants, process- induced changes, as well as proteomics, peptidomics, and metabolomics.  

Qualifications 

The successful candidate must have:

  • a strong background biorefinery of green biomass (clovers and alfalfa) or sea lettuces
  • experience in data analysis, multivariate and/or univariate data analysis
  • solid understanding of molecular interaction, protein chemistry, analytical chemistry, and process-induced changes in food or feed
  • experience in functional properties and extrusion technology is considered a plus  
  • documented strong writing skills
  • strong in oral presentation
  • a MSc and PhD degree in food science, analytical chemistry, biochemistry or similar

Start date and duration of employment

The intended start date is 1 January 2025 or as soon as possible hereafter.  The durtion of employment is 18 months.

Formalities and salary range

Technical Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any). Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
