MEMBER SERVICE OFFICR 1Yr FTC

GENERAL SCOPE OF ROLE:

You will be accountable to the MSO Team Lead of the credit union for carrying out a range of administrative and operational activities that contribute to the effective running of the credit union.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Reporting directly to the MSO Team Lead, you will provide an efficient service to members within the authorised limits granted by the CEO.

MAIN DUTIES:

    To process payments from members

    Dealing with all filing of correspondence, photocopying and typing as required.

    Computer inputting and printouts.

    Operating computers and other office equipment as required, following appropriate training.

    General Office work, post shredding etc

    Filing on membership application forms; loan application forms; insurance forms etc.

    Dealing with members concerning lodgments and withdrawals.

    Checking lists of adult and juvenile members and keeping then up to date.

    Scanning & indexing of loan applications, credit agreements, withdrawal forms and other documents.

    Answering the telephone and ensuring that telephone messages are passed on to the correct person.

    Opening and distribution of post under the supervision of the MSO Team Lead.

    Directing members to other credit union personnel as required.

    Issuing documentation and items of general information to members and non-members as directed.

    Be conversant with all relevant aspects of the computer.

    Be conversant with all aspects of LP/LS.

    Open accounts for and educate new members

    Dealing with delinquent members within policy guidelines.

    Dealing with member queries.

    Dealing with computer difficulties.

    Co-operation with the Operations Manager in the development and/or implementation of new services

    Dealing with members concerning lodgments, loans and withdrawals.

    To attend training programs and workshops as required by the credit union.

    To be aware of and comply with all Health & Safety regulations as directed by the credit union.

    To attend and contribute to meetings of such committees as may be directed by the CEO and the board of

         directors

    To undertake such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by the CEO.

    To obtain at a minimum, APA Loans.

    To maintain designated qualification by completing relevant CPD training annually.

The ideal candidate will have

•    Experience working in a frontline role within a credit union or similar financial institution.

•    QFA/APA Loans/Equivalent Financial Qualification or be actively working towards such a qualification

•    Team worker with strong communication and organisational skills.

•    Excellent analytical & decision-making skills.

•    Member focused, friendly with an excellent telephone manner.

•    Ability to work to deadlines and can prioritise tasks.

•    Willingness to be flexible and take on new tasks and projects.

•    Excellent IT skills
