Medical Clinic Nursing Assistant. Dublin. Irlanda

The role will require the close cooperation and assisting the surgeon in completing minor surgical procedures. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the surgeon and supporting patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience and in postoperative care.

Role:

-Assisting the doctor with minor surgical operations.

-Provide medical care to perioperative patients under the supervision of the surgeon.

-Preparing the required surgical equipment and instruments for the surgery.

- Assist the surgeon by providing direct support during procedures, which may include holding instruments, suturing and suctioning.

-Maintain a clear and sterile field during surgery.

-Assist with hemostasis safely under the surgeons supervision.

-Assist the surgeon in applying appropriate dressings to surgical areas immediately following procedures.

-Ensure dressings are applied in a sterile manner to prevent infection.

-Assist in transferring patients to the recovery room and monitor them during the immediate postoperative period.

-Document the surgical procedure and any relevant patient information.

Requirements:

-2 years previous experience in a similar role

-Technical knowledge of relevant procedure and anatomy of the area under surgery.

-Quality manual dexterity.

- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon.

-Ability to work collaboratively in a high stress, team oriented environment.

- Understanding of patient needs and concerns, particularly regarding postoperative care.

- Willingness to adapt to changing situations and handle unexpected challenges in the surgical setting.
