Live in Carer. Irlanda

We are looking for a kind, compassionate, caring person to live in and provide care and support for an engaging elderly couple. The lady N, (80years old) has Alzheimers and is cared for at home by her loving husband L(age 84). L is looking for a carer who will support him in looking after N, enabling them to live as happily and independently as possible, in their own home.

As a care giver you will be delivering a quality home care service, which includes supporting L in providing personal care needs for N,such as showering, dressing, medication reminders and client appointments, meal preparation, light housekeeping and companionship.

L and N are active people. Walking is one of their favourite pastimes and they will walk once or twice a day. As N’s alzheimers progresses, she may not feel up to some activities and may choose to stay at home with the carer.

Day to Day Responsibilities

Support N in hygiene/personal care needs maintaining the highest standards while maintaining the clients dignity at all times.

Monitoring N’s health & well-being;

Support L in preparing N for daily morning walk. Accompanying them on walk if required or staying at home with N if needed.

Assisting N with practical needs;

Ensuring L gets breaks if needed

Encouraging N to partake in activities indoors

Light housework

Helping L get N ready for bed

Any other duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications & Attributes

Professional, caring and empathetic nature with a sunny disposition;

Experience in delivering care either in a personal/professional capacity;

Experience dealing with Alzheimers patient

Good communication skills;

Have a good level of English language skills;

Be comfortable working in a home environment;

Applicants must be legally entitled to work within Ireland and the EU;

Full clean Driving Licence
