Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:

Are you ready for a new beginning?

We need your talent, knowledge and dedication to better our world with biology.

Our purpose points the way

In Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges. Since we began more than a century ago, this has been our guide. It’s how we've gotten so far. And it’s how we'll impact the future. Now, more than ever, the world needs change. And with biosolutions, the possibilities for transformation are endless.

We’re here to better our world with biology.

Join us as our new laboratory technician in Research

We are looking for a laboratory technician with a strong interest in studying enzymes to be included in our biochemical/biophysical activities in the Protein Chemistry and Assay function in Lyngby. We actively participate in biochemical characterization across Novonesi's development projects, and support our production in fermentation, purification and finally finished product formulation. The position will be either in the department of Enzymology, Substrates & Assays or Application Systems Analysis depending on the final candidate's profile.

Welcome to Protein Chemistry & Assay, PCA

The PCA field is very international, and we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team, so you can expect to work alongside colleagues of different nationalities, cultures, and expertise. We emphasize the importance of well-being, including creating a good and well-functioning working environment, supporting our employees' work-life balance and offering flexible working arrangements. As a laboratory technician in the function, you will work on several parallel research projects and be part of a dedicated team of laboratory technicians and chemists. It is therefore necessary that you can collaborate easily and thrive on several tasks at the same time. The job offers a mix of development tasks, where patience, creativity, experience, observation skills and sparring with chemists are important qualities, as well as analysis tasks, where throughput and reproducibility are highly valued. It is crucial that you will approach both types of tasks with the same enthusiasm.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

  • Work protein chemically with new enzymes/proteins in our product development.
  • Increase our understanding of new enzymes/proteins by characterizing them in terms of specificity, stability and activity.
  • Study the effect of enzymes on and in application-relevant substrates – e.g. using HPLC or spectrophotometer, colloid, surface and microscopy techniques and general protein biochemistry.
  • Access versatile tasks with a smile and contribute to a well-functioning environment in your team and in the department

To succeed you must hold:

  • Have an education as an industrial laboratory technician, bioanalyst or equivalent.
  • Be familiar with written and spoken English as English is the working language.
  • Preferably have worked with enzymes or proteins and preferably have experience with general biochemical/biophysical work.
  • Possess some knowledge of methods for characterization of enzymes/proteins – e.g. via stability, specificity and/or activity methods. Preferably combined with chromatographic methods (such as column purification or analytical HPLC) and enzyme assays.
  • Have an interest in and/or knowledge of fluorescence microscopy, physical chemistry, surface or colloidal techniques (e.g. DLS/ELS, rheology, tensiometry, QCM-D).
  • Like to work with structured data collection, visualization and analysis of data (e.g. via Excel or SAS JMP), as well as reporting in electronic laboratory books.
  • Want versatile tasks that are designed in collaboration with one or more chemists with daily sparring. You are enterprising, curious, take responsibility for your tasks, can work systematically and want to achieve results together with others.
