Kitchen Porter – Dun Laoghaire Location: Dun Laoghaire Contract Type: Permanent Reporting to: Catering Manager / Supervisor or as directed Shift Pattern: Mon – Fri – 37.5 Hours per week (Occasional Saturday work) Role Overview: In this position you will be joining a fast-paced, well-organised catering team on one of the Company’s large client sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop their catering career as full training will be provided. Job Dimensions Practical • Ensure high standard of cleaning as directed by supervisor in the dining/catering areas. • Promote a high standard of customer service to Client employees • To wash, polish and circulate all crockery, cutlery and any other working equipment needed in all areas • To clean and maintain the machinery in the plate wash and pot wash area. Keep back of house, kitchen areas and changing facilities and any other areas as listed herein clean according to cleaning specifications and the Hygiene Plan • Assist chefs when required in kitchen duties • Transport deliveries from the goods inwards to the designated areas • Use of cleaning and catering equipment • Care of equipment Customer Relations • Encourage good relations with all clients on contract site • Promptly deal with any customer queries or complaints • Maintain an efficient work practice in busy areas during service. i.e. during any service. Training • Part take in induction training for new staff • Part take in ongoing training from ISS internal or external training departments • Cooperate with safe working practices (manual handling/safe use of chemicals etc) • Adhere to all training in relation to food hygiene and cleaning so as to promote the highest standard of safety and hygiene awareness • Follow all guidelines and training given to you by the supervisor/ trainer at all times in the food environment. As part of your job, you will be expected to attend training events and/or meetings and travel to other locations may be required. Local requirements will govern your patterns and locations of work.
