The ideal candidate is a pizza enthusiast with extensive experience managing high-volume kitchen operations, a commitment to food quality and safety, and a talent for leading and developing a team. The Kitchen Manager - Senior position will ensure our pizzas and menu items are consistently prepared to the highest standards, manage inventory and food costs, and uphold health and safety regulations. This position requires a hands-on leader with an eye for detail and a passion for creating a positive, efficient, and cohesive kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations Management; Team Leadership and Development; Inventory and Cost Control; Quality Control and Food Safety
Additional Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all kitchen-related issues, from inventory shortages to equipment malfunctions, ensuring a swift and effective response.
Oversee preparation for large orders and catering events, coordinating the team to meet high-volume demands while maintaining quality.
Collaborate with the management team on promotional initiatives, such as “Pizza of the Month” or limited-time offers, including brainstorming, execution, and training staff on special items.
Participate in financial reviews, contributing insights on food and labour costs and suggesting adjustments to align kitchen performance with financial goals.
Qualifications:
Education: Culinary degree or relevant certification in pizza or Italian cuisine is preferred, though not required for highly experienced candidates.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a high-volume kitchen management role, preferably within a pizzeria or Italian restaurant setting and Proven track record in leading and developing kitchen teams and managing high-speed kitchen operations.
Skills and Abilities:
Pizza-Making Expertise:
Leadership: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop a cohesive kitchen team, managing schedules and training staff on a wide range of kitchen tasks.
Financial Acumen
Health and Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of food safety laws, allergen protocols, and HACCP principles, with a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean kitchen.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to food presentation, quality control, and timing, especially during high-volume service periods.
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with kitchen management software, POS systems, and digital inventory tracking tools is advantageous.
