Junior IT Helpdesk Support Engineer Dublin 3, Co. Dublin €Excellent DOE Plus 20 Days’ Holiday + Public Holidays Our client provides professional IT support for businesses ranging from SMEs to large companies. An opportunity has now arisen for a Junior IT Helpdesk Support Engineer to join their team. For this role, our client is looking for a Junior IT Helpdesk Support Engineer to be based permanently on a client site in Dublin City Centre. You’ll benefit from training and excellent career progression prospects. You will be responsible for dealing with helpdesk support queries using remote management software, supporting a Client Cloud Environment and performing PC/Laptop setups. As a Junior IT Helpdesk Support Engineer, you will also install, configure and maintain client software, such as MS Office Suite and communication equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls and mobile devices. Your other duties will include: - Problem-solving and troubleshooting issues on-site and remotely - Client account management - Training and transferring knowledge to clients - Managing and communicating with third party vendors To be considered, you must have: - Experience in a helpdesk support or field engineering role, dealing with in-house and on-site installations, configurations and the maintenance of client hardware - Experience of using remote management tools - Basic knowledge of MS Exchange and Office 365 - PC/laptop repair, setup and configuration experience - Mac repair, setup and configuration experience - Server repair, setup and configuration experience - Server administration experience, including 2003, 2008, 2012, SBS 2003 and 2011 - Knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches and remote access servers As a Junior IT Helpdesk Support Engineer, you must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities are also key. A degree (or equivalent) in computer science or another technically-related subject would be beneficial.
