Junior Database Specialist (h/f). Luxemburgo

We are looking for a motivated Junior Database Manager to join our team and support the management, maintenance, and optimization of our databases. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the

ideal candidate will assist in day-to-day database operations, ensure data integrity, and help with performance optimization. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth in database management, learning from experienced professionals, and contributing to key projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Database Management Support: Assist in the management and maintenance of databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle DB, ensuring efficient operation and performance.

2. Monitor Performance: Regularly monitor database performance, track key metrics, and report any issues or optimization opportunities to the senior team.

3. Data Backup and Recovery: Support the setup and maintenance of backup procedures and disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and protection.

4. Database Optimization: Perform routine tasks to optimize database performance, such as re- indexing and query tuning under the supervision of senior managers.

5. Collaborate with Development Teams: Work with development teams to align database structures with project needs, ensuring seamless integration and performance.

6. Assist with Database Security: Help implement and maintain database security protocols, including access controls and user permissions.

7. Data Integrity Checks: Conduct regular data integrity checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of the stored data.

8. Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of database processes, configurations, and best practices for easy access by the team.

9. Database Support: Provide support to users and development teams, troubleshooting minor database issues and escalating complex problems to the Senior Manager.

10. Learning and Development: Stay updated on database management techniques and technologies by learning from senior managers and engaging in ongoing training.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. Database Management:

o Basic knowledge of SQL for writing queries, managing data, and running reports.

o Experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle DB for basic database tasks and performance tuning.

2. Monitoring and Performance:

o Familiarity with monitoring tools for tracking database performance and health.

o Basic understanding of query optimization and indexing.

3. Backup and Recovery:

o Knowledge of basic backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability.

4. Database Security:

o Understanding of database security practices, including managing user permissions and access controls.

5. Collaboration:

o Strong communication skills for working with development teams to ensure database requirements are met.

6. Data Integrity:

o Ability to perform data integrity checks, ensuring accuracy and consistency in the database.

Diploma: Brevet de technicien supérieur (Bac+2/+3

Language Requirements:

• English mandatory.

• Italian, French and Spanish are optional but highly desirable.
