Schmidt Hammer Lassen is looking for skilled and highly motivated IT Technician to provide helpdesk service and IT maintenance for our two architectural Studios in Denmark.

Schmidt Hammer Lassen is shaped by the skilled and ambitious people who work across our studios. As our new IT Technician, you provide the IT support and IT technical guidance necessary for our company to continue to deliver skilled architectural services globally.

Schmidt Hammer Lassen is part of the global architectural firm Perkins&Will. As our IT Technician you are part of our global IT support team and refer to the London-based IT Service Manager for Europe. As part of the global team, you maintain open communication with other offices on projects that are coordinated among multiple studios.

This is a full-time position working out of our studio in Copenhagen. Occasional travel to our Studio in Aarhus is to be expected. Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with Danish legislation and the relevant collective agreement.

As part of your daily tasks, you will

  • Resolve helpdesk issues and provide IT maintenance/support for the studio.
  • Close relationship with studio Operations Director and Managing Directors group.
  • Shows initiative and ability to work well independently and with others.
  • Exhibits strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Able to pivot and hand a “hands-on” working style.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot assistance to clients via phone, email, chat or in person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Receive, prioritize, and manage service requests from internal clients.
  • Escalate complex or critical incidents to appropriate technical teams and follow up to ensure prompt resolution has been met. Communicate incident updates to clients and provide status reports as needed.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base and share best practices to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Assist in managing IT assets including hardware and software inventory, license tracking, and equipment deployment. Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely replacements and repairs.
  • Conduct training sessions and provide orientation as needed.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Reports to the IT Services Manager and/or Director of IT Services.

To succeed in the role, you

  • will bring relevant experience of working with IT support (ideally a minimum of 1-2 years of experience)
  • are fluent in English (knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an advantage).

  • have obtained basic proficiency in using and administering – Windows desktop OS, Mac OS systems, iOS / Android devices, Microsoft Teams, PC and laptop hardware, ticketing systems, Audio Visual systems.
  • lead the incident and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and effective problem-solving. 
  • continuously identify opportunities to enhance IT services and improve the user experience.

Highly recommended proficiencies: Excellent customer service skills, analytical skills, excellent verbal and non-verbal skills, communication skills.
