Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:
The successful candidate will work closely with young people from asylum-seeking and refugee communities to provide information and support on issues such as immigration and asylum rights, access to education and training, employment, accommodation, housing and prevention of homelessness.
Responsibilities
Providing information, support and advocacy for non-EEA migrants, refugees and asylum seekers with their immigration and asylum needs and providing information and practical support on access to education, income support and housing.
Providing orientation and links to community integration, wellbeing and mental health supports.
Working with service users to develop individualised assessment and individual support plans.
Working with service users to transition between living in IPAS supported accommodation to living in the community.
Working collaboratively with external agencies to support the young person, i.e. social work, community, education and healthcare professionals.
Supporting the overall wellbeing and social integration of service users.
Identifying inequities or emerging trends and liaising with the senior management team to identify potential solutions and strategies.
Building and maintaining constructive working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders including local communities, NGOs, INGOs, civil society bodies and public and government officials.
Maintaining accurate records and ensure that data is accurate, maintained confidentially and is compliant with reporting and monitoring requirements.
Participating in, and contributing to, meetings, information or training workshops, reports, evaluations and networking activities as required.
Essential requirements -
Undergraduate (minimum) or postgraduate degree in law or other related discipline with a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree.
18 months experience (employment) working in a similar area.
Strong understanding of Ireland’s international protection system.
Strong understanding of the rights of asylum seekers and refugees, particularly as they relate to housing, education and family reunion.
Strong writing skills (English language fluency is essential).
Experience in advocating on behalf of service users.
Experience in managing own caseload.
Experience communicating effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds and dealing empathetically with refugees.
Experience in maintaining records and a good understanding of data protection and confidentiality
