We are looking for an experienced horticultural operative for Rock Farm Slane. We have a wide variety of agricultural enterprises on the farm, which enjoys organic status. This includes vegetable, beef, pig and poultry enterprises, which operate alongside our restaurant, glamping, concerts, walking trails, woodland and sporting enterprises. The produce from our farming operations is sold in the farmers market and restaurants on the Slane Castle Estate.

The vegetable enterprise requires a competent operative to lead the 1-acre market garden to supply the wider Estate with a range of vegetables on a seasonal basis under the direction of a member of the Conyngham family and kitchen team.

The ideal candidate will:

      Have a QQI Level 5 FETAC Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent

    Demonstrate a real energy, passion and enthusiasm for organic vegetable production with the ambition to

        build on the success of the current enterprise.

    Have “start to finish” growing experience.

    Have relevant qualifications and/or past on the job experience.

    Have a clean driving licence.

    Be happy working as part of a small team.

    Take responsibility for jobs from start to finish.
