Technical Support for BU Port Service provides technical expertise to customers and internal Frontlines for complex retrofits and modernisations on Port Solutions Equipment. It also develops the core product portfolio for the Business Unit and provides technical training for internal and external audiences.

Technical Support is now looking for a motivational leader to take the role of Global PMO Manager. You will lead the global project management office function that oversees the end-to-end project management of all customer orders. Projects cover service products such as retrofits, modernisations, inspections, maintenance and repairs across all Port Solutions equipment. You will lead a technical support project management team of 6 dedicated professionals overseeing activities of around 150 projects/month globally.

Your key responsibilities:

Leadership and management of the PMO team in planning and executing all customer orders to defined targets

Monitor and control of project scope, timing, cost, quality, resources and risk through to project completion for entire project portfolio

Assess variances to project targets along with actions to recover to plan

Risk management and effective mitigation planning

Direct line management and development of project management team members

Communicate and liaise with internal and external customers on project status

Cross-functional liaison with other departments to ensure the success of the product or service

Organizational structure and resource planning to support department needs

Develop and implement of standardised project management policies, standards and procedures in line with best practice

Project status reporting to key stakeholders

Annual budget setting and management to target

What you should bring?

You need to have a customer centric mindset, excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with customers and develop relationships at all levels. It is also crucial that you have strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to delegate tasks, motivate team members and manage stakeholder priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.

We also expect you to have:

Degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Business, Engineering

Demonstration of successful project execution for a PMO department or as a Senior Project Management professional delivering multiple projects within Port Crane or Heavy Machinery industries

Knowledge of scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting and control, quality planning, risk management

Experience in successfully managing and leading multi-functional teams

Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen

Proficient in use of MS tools including Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Microsoft Project

Fluent spoken and written English, other languages such as Finnish or German are preferred but not essential

We also appreciate if you have Project Management certification as well as previous experience within Service function (not mandatory).
