We are looking for an experienced Fitter - Welder to work on customer projects.

The role

To assemble and weld sheet-metal and light structures using MIG or TIG welding processes, materials will range from Mild steel to stainless steels and aluminum in gauges ranging from 0.5mm to 6mm working to tight dimensional and finishing tolerances. Accuracy and finish is very important as our customers are operating within the food and pharmaceutical sector.

The job will also compose of some finishing work to prepare the workpiece for finishing.

It is essential that the applicant can read and understand engineering drawings and communicate effectively with the other members of the team to achieve a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.

We will expect to carry out a trade test before making a job offer, to inspect the qualifications that you have.

The person

You must be able to read and work from engineering drawings and able to work on your own initiative. You should also be able to work in a busy environment as required by customer.

Ideally experienced in high quality welding in either the food and pharmaceutical industry or similar sectors, although applicants that show they have an eye for quality and attention to detail will be well considered.

PERSONAL SKILLS

• Work under minimal supervision and has good communication
• Document actions by completing production documents.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Monitor equipment for appropriate usage and temperature
• Assess equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate fitting, welding positions and methods
• Plan welding by studying work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and parameters

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

• Practical interest in Engineering
• Good attention to detail. Able to work as a team player, performing to a high standard.
• Welders are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Candidate must be prepared to be flexible, moving into other project as work demands
• Proof of right to work in Denmark

EXPERIENCE

• Time served fitter/welder who has qualified from a recognised training body, with at least five years’ experience in the food or pharmaceutical sector.
• Proficient TIG / MIG Welder, must have experience in pipe welding of Carbon and Stainless Steels
• Candidates must be fully proficient in reading engineering and isometric drawings, following and understanding specific work instructions.
• Knowledge/experience of working with stainless steel sheet metal 0.5-6.0 mm thick
• Candidates would need to be able to demonstrate an understanding for Quality Controls and material traceability. Also be prepared to work to tight deadlines and show willingness to adapt to changes in operation process requirements.
• Relevant experience ideally gained from working in a factory / installation environment
• Knowledge in fitting and able to fabricate from own jigs and fixtures

The conditions

A good working environment at our customers production- or project sites, based on working 37 hour per week. You will often be hired out to a specific project, where – at times or for periods of time – a considerable amount of work outside and in addition to normal working hours are required. As such, you must be willing to adjust your workload accordingly.

Rates of pay to be discussed during the initial interview process and agreed upon a successful application.
