Bedrijf Ghent Marriott Hotel is situated on the Korenlei, in the historic centre of Ghent and opened its doors March 20, 2007.  The hotel has 150 comfortable guest rooms and suites.

There are nine meeting rooms, Poppi Coffee & Wine Bar, Brixx Cellar Lounge and an American Steakhouse, Midtown Grill, with terrace and view over the river Lys and the historical façades of the Graslei.

There is free WiFi.

Guests can park in the parking garage under the hotel.

The hotel has long been considered the top of European in the field of hospitality and was rewarded by Trip Advisor as the best hotel in Belgium.Functie The basic purpose of the Director of Sales and Marketing is to plan and manage the overall sales, marketing, catering management efforts for the hotel.

You will be responsible for short/long term planning and day to day operations of the hotel sales & marketing department.

You recommend appropriate marketing, advertising and sales plans & programs and you manage within approved plans and budgets.

You participate in total hotel management as a member of the Executive Committee.

You function as the strategic business leader for the Sales and Marketing Department and you are responsible for property reactive sales, pro-active account sales and segment sales, local and social catering sales, business travel sales, reservation sales and destination sales, if applicable.

The position shares responsibility for achieving revenue goals, guest and employee satisfaction and the financial performance of the department.

You implement all the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process.

You lead on-property sales functions to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of properties' sales objectives.

You evaluate the participation of property in the various sales channels (e.g., Market Sales, electronic lead channels, etc.) and develop strong working relationships to maximize each property's benefits.

You will proactively position and market the various property.

You manage the marketing budget to enable development of property specific campaigns, promotions and collateral to drive revenue and meet property objectives.

You interface with regional marketing communications on regional and national promotions pull through.

You develop and implement strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customer profile and property employees and provide a return on investment to the owners and the company.Profiel Multi language skills with at least proficiency in Dutch and English is required, Proficiency in French is preferred.

Pre-opening experience is recommended but not essential.

DOSM experience essential.

Number of managers and associates supervised: 7 Remark: The hotel business works 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

Our associates should understand this and be flexible at all times for changes in the timetables.
