We are now looking for a consultant for a client within railway and signalling to strengthen the Engineering Team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with the project DevOps team (10 people). You will be a key part of the technical specialist team located in Norway. This involves solving complex technical issues and contributing with your expertise in ongoing projects. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment and level 2 support of the infrastructure and solution, and ensuring best practices within Traffic Management System (TMS) and on national signaling systems.

The DevOps Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:

• Working in the DevOps team, to address all topics for DevOps for a big railway project (TMS Norway)

• Taking the lead on one or more topics to address them end-to-end (requirement refinement/understanding, design, prototyping, implementation, documentation, roll-out to customer system and production, knowledge sharing)

• Building some expertise in one of the DevOps domains for the project (eg. cloud backup, monitoring...)

To be qualified for this role, you need to have the following qualifications and experience:

• Relevant technical education at University level, preferably BSc or equivalent. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.

• Experience within railway, preferably also within ERTMS and TMS

• Technical knowledge within kubernetes, SQL, bash and ansible scripting

• Competence within Agile Scrum

• Fluency in English, written and spoken

In addition, it is desirable/advantageous with the following competencies:

• Competence within JIRA and Confluence/Wiki

• Background from networking

• Experience from Java development

• Autonomous and self-driven, but with the ability to work well in a small team
