We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join this supported living service in Enfield, supporting 3 adults aged 18-35 with learning disabilities, autism and emotional needs. This Enfield service is a specialist transition service that has been developed specifically to provide a living environment which will help build resilience in the people who use the service through the promotion of positive risk taking and the building of practical transferable skills. Package description We operate the Government's childcare vouchers initiative, which are taken from your salary before your usual Tax and NI contributions are deducted, and also the Government's pension scheme. We offer all staff 28 days annual leave, rising to 30 days after 1 year, with an option to buy up to 5 days additional holiday per year. Annual leave and additional holiday are prorated for part time staff. We also recognise excellence in our staff through an annual awards ceremony and an employee of the month scheme. Main responsibilities * Support the Supported Living Manager, and deputise in their absence, to undertake all aspects of managing the service, ensuring that high standards of support are maintained while adhering to all requirements and regulations (e.g. CQC). Continually monitor and evaluate the quality of the service and implement identified improvements, ensuring the most effective use of resources. * Support the Manager in ensuring Person Centred Approaches are in place and central to all support practice for everyone being supported. * Promote positive internal communication and supportive working relationships between all members of the team and strong professional relationships with families, neighbours, local health and social care professionals and CQC. * Support the manager with the development, implementation and maintenance of person centred plans and risk assessments for tenants, ensuring continuity of care and support of the highest level. Ensure that all staff work towards meeting agreed packages of support, and that tenants needs are effectively met through a proactive enabling approach. * Support in ensuring evidence-based practice is implemented to adults with complex needs including embedding Positive Behaviour Support, Total Communication Approaches and strategies to support people with an autism diagnosis. * Support the Manager in managing the recruitment of high quality staff and likewise with the induction, support, supervision, development, performance management and training of staff. Ensure that disciplinary and grievance matters are handled sensitively and promptly, and that company procedure is followed strictly consulting with the Regional Director and HR Department as appropriate. * Promote continuing staff awareness of, and compliance with support packages, Company policies, procedures and guidelines, relevant legislation, and regulatory requirements. * Support the Manager to monitor budgets, including petty cash, the effective use of staffing, and tenants finances with adequate safeguards in place. Maintain a sound knowledge of appropriate benefit entitlement for people being supported. * Demonstrate vigilance to the health and safety of tenants, colleagues and visitors, ensuring any deficiencies affecting safety and quality of life for tenants are reported to the Manager and immediate action taken. * Ensure that medication is ordered and administered in line with Policies and Procedures. * Assist the Manager in ensuring that the building is well-maintained and provides a safe and stimulating environment for tenants. * Maintains an appropriate balance between management and ‘hands-on’ work, meeting the needs of all tenants.
