Construction Safety Officer. South-East. Irlanda

The successful candidate will work to ensure the health and safety of the construction workers by enforcing safety regulations and promoting safe practices. This role will require a blend of technical knowledge, practical experience, and excellent communication skills to manage effectively and promote safety on construction work site.

Responsibilities:

Provide health and safety advice to work personnel and promote manual handling best practice.

To monitor for effectiveness, the procedures for the management of lifting operations, temporary works, inductions, fire and emergencies, permits and other bespoke procedures required for the safety execution of the works.

Maintain close working relationship with the principal contractor to provide active assistance and advise to ensure the effective implementation of the health and safety management system.

Provide guidance on fire regulations, occupational health and handling dangerous substances.

Ability to develop risk assessment method statement for every construction site within the organisation.

Actively contribute ideas to the team to achieve zero tolerance to health and safety incidents.

Update staff training records and organise training needs with third party organisation.

Ensure all mechanical, electrical and propelled equipment or motor certified and safe to use.

Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities including audits, inspections, incidents and training.

Requirements:

Flexible working schedule depending on job requirements.

Relevant degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years working experience in construction industry.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
