CNC Operator operate machines to drill, bore, grind, cut, mill or otherwise shape metal workpieces. Maintaining, setting, and adjusting the machine are all part of the operator’s daily tasks. This includes knowledge of the software and hardware of the machine.

CNC Operator Tasks:

Examine drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate method, sequence of operations, and machine settings.

Select and fix work-holding devices and appropriate cutting, shaping, grinding, and/or forming tools.

Set machine controls for rotation speeds, depth of cut and stroke, and adjust machine table, stops, and guides.

Operate automatic or manual controls to feed tool to workpiece or vice versa and check the accuracy of machining.

Reposition workpiece, change tools, and reset machine as necessary during production run.

Instruct operators on the safe and correct method of machine operation.

Set up machines with different types of controllers, as well as measure and tool prep material.

Work with different types of materials.

Have knowledge of programming and the ability to read programs.

Ensure quality checks are completed to ensure products meet design specifications.

Carry out and follow all Health & Safety legislation.

Undertake routine checks to maintain machines/equipment, ensuring they are in correct working order, and report any malfunctions or deviations to a team leader or production supervisor.

Choose the correct cutting tools needed and determine stock machining sizes required depending on machine strategy.

Requirements:

Degree in Industrial Maintenance

Post Graduation in Computer Science

Working Experience as CNC Operator

Applicants must have good command of the English and Portuguese languages.
