Clinical Librarian - Based at The Royal London Hospital This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident librarian to join the Knowledge and Library Services team as one of our clinical librarians. This is a new post to be based at The Royal London Hospital, becoming a second clinical librarian for the site. The Royal London is a leading, internationally renowned 727 bed teaching hospital based in east London. It provides a full range of local and specialist services, which includes one of the largest children's hospitals in the UK with one of London's busiest paediatric Accident and Emergency departments. Home to London’s Air Ambulance service, The Royal London Hospital is the UK’s largest trauma centre and leads the trauma network for north east London and Essex, it is also a leading hyper-acute stroke centre. You will work with a variety of clinical teams to answer questions related to clinical decision making, evidence based practice and research; you will also provide training on how to access a range of resouces. As well as a first degree or postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies, you will need at least two years’ post qualification experience of working in library services. You will have strong literature searching skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will have an extensive knowledge of clinical resources and ideally some experience of the NHS, but it’s more important to have the ideas, energy and communication skills to ensure the provision of evidence at the clinical point of need. Although based primarily at The Royal London Hospital you will be part of the Knowledge and Library Services team supporting patient care, research and continuing professional development across the trust, as such you will be expected to visit the other Barts Health NHS Trust sites as required.
