Job title: Chief Operating Officer  Location: London, UK. Business trips to Turkey every quarter will be required. Turkish Bank UK Ltd aims to be the pre-eminent institution serving the Turkish speaking community’s banking needs in Britain. The Role Turkish Bank UK Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to develop and lead the COO function at Executive Director level and take responsibility for excellence and delivery in the key areas of Treasury, Credit, Information Technology, Operations, HR, FI Relations and Facilities.   Key duties and responsibilities will include the following: 1. Achieve Business Performance * Ensure strategic objectives and budget targets shaped at Board level are implemented and monitored and regular progress reports are presented to the CEO and the Strategy Oversight Committee. *  Be accountable for the aggregate plan and delivery of systems, operations, facilities and the general operating model in Turkish Bank (UK). * Drive through more efficient ways of working. * Ensure branches and head office work with maximum efficiency and within the Bank’s policies, procedures and strategic aims * Managethe Bank’s budget and allocation of resources within overall approved budgets/plans. * Ensure that business change projects are delivered on time and in budget in line with directions from the Board. * Contribute to the development of business strategy by providing a view on new or potential improvements to products or services and an assessment of the existing situation and anticipated changes in the external environment. * Analyse effectiveness of processes and systems in use in general for Turkish Bank (UK) and recommend corrective action or automation. * Benchmark productivity of the Bank’s various departments against industry standards and create measures to improve productivity. * Ensure that policies and procedures are up to date and fit for purpose to maintain good governance and performance   2. Driving Business Direction * To be a driver of the strategic planning, capex budgeting and forecasting of business requirements and decision making process * Ensure an effective and efficient operating model is maintained * Accountable for driving the business model (Ops, Branches, Credit, IT, HR, Facilities) * Chair / Member on various committees including ALCO, Business Acceptance, Business Development, Credit, EXCO , IT and other key management committees * Represent the Bank on external bodies / committees where applicable * Ensure that risk is effectively addressed in all aspects of the business under the COO * Ensure that a proper infrastructure (building, systems and staff complement) is maintained and developed for the bank. * Accountable for planning and opening of new branches in terms of expansion (or closure of underperforming branches) of the business and business plans. * Maintain a tight control over the cost structure of the Bank, including control of appropriate staffing levels  3. 3. People Management/Leadership * Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and peers on EXCO t o ensure the correct focus * Act as Deputy to the CEO in dealing with the various regulators, and other bodies * Lead,inspire and coach staff,creating succession plans to key roles  and enhancing Bank management capability * Work with managers in the team to achieve excellent business results (or correct poor performance) through continuous people development and mentoring activities  * Determine and analyse training and development needs for managers  and ensure they do the same for th
