Buying Assistant

About The Job:

Reporting to the Product and Marketing Managers (PMM) in the Home & Lifestyle Division based in Head Office, the Buying Assistant is responsible for assisting the PMMs with all procurement-related tasks such as selecting the right product mix, managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory, preparing budgets, and providing administrative support. Buyer Assistants work closely with vendors and keep track of market trends.

This role is crucial to support the PMMs in t he day to day running of the departments while aiming to maximise sales and profitability. This role is fast paced and the ability to prioritise will be crucial. In this role you will assist in all aspects of the buying process including product data management, supplier liaison, design adjustments to products and clearly support marketing decisions. You will be working with support systems such as Microsoft & SAP.

Tasks will include:

Product Management, including product data management, and product development.

Supply chain communication; dealing with over 10 countries globally with a focus on Asia ; clarity of both written spoken language is essential to the job.

Competitor and market analysis.

Provide assistance with the overall day-to-day administrative operations of the Home and Lifestyle Department Head Office team.

Handling external and internal communications.

Developing and executing marketing strategy including online and traditional media.

Planning photo shoots and working in conjunction with the online team to ensure products are presented effectively.

Project support.

Ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Third Level Design Degree ideal

Experience in retail is preferable.

Interest in interiors products is a must.

Strong analytical skills required.

Strong computer skills required

High levels of attention to detail.

Effective communication skills.

Proactive & well-organised.

Works well as part of a fast paced, dynamic team.
