The Department of Laboratory Haematology is spread across 4 sites at 3 hospitals in Oxford and Banbury, and the successful candidates would work as part of a team at the Oxford and Banbury sites of the Trust. Self-development is encouraged with access to a number of postgraduate courses.The Department is both UKAS 15189 and HCPC accredited. The successful candidate will be HCPC registered with an interest in Haematology and / or Blood Transfusion normally they will rotate through all sections, covering the full range of Haematology and Blood Transfusion. They would be looking to progress their knowledge to the level of IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent, and beyond initial registration level. Which the Department would be happy to support.The successful candidate will be arriving at an exciting point, as all equipment in Haematology has recently been upgraded with new Sysmex equipment across all 4 sites. Blood Transfusion has networked Blood-Tx and integrated Remote Release to a greater extent than most sites in the UK.The Oxford University Hospital Haematology has a more diverse range of testing being carried out than many other Hospitals with a variety of specialist workload being referred in, and training in appropriate specialist sections may be given, over time, as required.A flexible approach to working hours is required; staff will be expected to work on all sites as required. The Haematology Department is a 24/7/365 operation and staff will be expected to work a variety of hours to meet the needs of the service.The successful candidates will work as part of a busy multidisciplinary team and have a positive professional approach to patient care.Candidates without UK HCPC registration would only be considered for shortlisting if there are insufficient qualified candidates.
