Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager, of VAT will be responsible for:

• Ensure compliance with domestic and international VAT regulations: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT regulations across multiple jurisdictions to ensure the company's operations adhere to both local and international VAT laws. Identify and address any compliance risks and provide recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.

• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns for the group's various VAT registrations in Europe: Compile, review, and prepare VAT returns for multiple European entities within the group. Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, taking into account the specific requirements of each country's tax authority.

• Review and enhance VAT processes to improve efficiency: Regularly evaluate existing VAT procedures, identifying opportunities for streamlining workflows, improving data accuracy, and reducing manual work. Implement process improvements to enhance overall efficiency and minimize the risk of errors in VAT reporting.

• Monitor and communicate changes in VAT legislation to the team: Stay informed about ongoing changes in VAT laws and regulations, both locally and internationally. Proactively communicate relevant updates to the finance and tax teams, ensuring the organization adapts to new requirements in a timely manner.

• Provide internal VAT training to relevant staff: Develop and deliver tailored VAT training programs for finance and accounting teams, helping them understand VAT requirements, compliance obligations, and changes in VAT laws that may impact their roles.

• Manage relationships with VAT authorities and external VAT advisors: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax authorities and external VAT advisors. Ensure effective communication, address inquiries, resolve disputes, and collaborate on complex VAT matters to safeguard the company's interests.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in finance, tax, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in VAT, with strong knowledge of EU VAT laws and regulations.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Proficiency in French, German, or Dutch would be an advantage.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

• Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
