Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver a comprehensive set of Oracle technical services to Vertice's customers. This encompasses a diverse array of services conducted across various infrastructure and cloud platforms. The tasks include performing operating system patches, implementing cloud infrastructure, designing cloud infrastructure, managing ongoing cloud-specific operations (aligned with CIS Benchmarking and incorporating environment additions), implementing Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM), and conducting virtual machine migrations.

Furthermore, the incumbent will play a vital role in aiding the implementation of Oracle Engineered Systems, such as Exadata (both on the cloud and on-premise), Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), and Recovery Appliance.

Given the nature of the role, effective communication is paramount. The successful candidate must possess robust written and oral communication skills, as frequent interaction with customers is an integral aspect of the position.

Responsibilities

•    Key customer projects, delivering defined project-based consultancy.  

•    Oracle Cloud infrastructure Pre-sales, delivering proof of concepts and infrastructure design.

•    Provide Oracle Architecture Reviews and High-Level Design (HLD) services, supporting the sales team as required.

•    Complex problem solving and solution positioning, in relation to customer problems.

•    Strong operating system support knowledge of both Windows and Linux.

•    Detailed knowledge of Oracle Cloud as a whole.

•    Design, implement and configure Oracle Cloud solutions, such as Exadata Cloud Services and Oracle Management Cloud

•    Adhering to, and implementing best practice standards, including the Maximum Availability Architecture.

•    Manage multiple projects and priorities running in parallel, in a fast-paced environment.

•    Liaise with Oracle Support to resolve/escalate customer issues through My Oracle Support.

•    Deployment of Iaas and Dbaas across different platforms and architectures (Bare Metal, Virtualised, PDB etc.).

•    OS and Hypervisor installation and configuration (Oracle Linux & Oracle KVM).

•    Creating & executing patch and upgrade plans for OS environments.

•    Provide Database and Infrastructure performance monitoring, tuning and capacity planning.

•    Provide reporting on Billing and Security Metrics.

•    Manage and configure Cloud based alerting.

•    Manage and enhance Oracle Cloud builds to ensure all new Cloud builds meet CIS benchmark Standards.
